Mt.Niesen

So... today I hiked a mountain. Mount Niesen In the Alps to be exact. Well ok, I didn't hike ALL the way up, but still.
I left at 6am this morning and hiked, and hiked, and hiked. And hiked. For about 3 hours. It was NOT fun. However, I can't complain to much. The view was amazing.
After we got about this high, Sandra and I went back down the hill while the 3 guys continued on.
We walked back through a little town called Wimmis.
And go figure, it had a castle.
Has anyone ever tried the "Evian" bottled water? Well, this is where it comes from.
They have these troughs all over the place from way back when and the water is delish.
Sandra and I drove around the the other side of the mountain where we took a cable car up to the very tip top. Along side this cable car there are stairs that you could also take if you want to walk up the longest staircase in the world. 11674 steps to be exact.
On the top of this mountain, it was so gorgeous! We waited there for about 3 hours until the other guys made it to the top. Yes, they hiked the whole way. Who does that? There were also 80 year old men doing the hike, and people RUNNING up it. Seriously, it was sickening.
(Me, Sandra, Ken, her brother Manuel, and her Father)
Who knew places like this existed? Someone once told me that Heavenly Father took 5 of the 7 days of creation on Switzerland. I couldn't agree more.
Believe it or not, that wasn't the end of my day. 1st of August is the Swiss Independence day, so around 8pm we drove 20 minutes into Basel to watch the fireworks over the river. They were easily the most impressive I've ever seen, not to mention they went on for over an hour. Apparently China is holding out on us. They didn't go very high either, so it was basically raining fire. AWESOME.
Well folks, that's about it for today.

Tschüß!
